CABVI Case Managers Working at their DeskCABVI works hard to ensure that individuals with visual impairment can easily access services. Referrals for service can be as simple as making a call and expressing an interest to learn more.

Case Managers meet with individuals and explain available services. Together, we develop a rehabilitation plan to address needs. We also encourage physicians, eye care providers, social service agencies, home health care agencies, family and friends to refer those in need of assistance to us.

The Case Manager monitors services until all goals on the rehabilitation plan are addressed. Case Managers also help the individual access services beyond those provided by CABVI, making referrals to other community agencies as needed. Additionally, Case Managers help eligible individuals apply for the NYS veteran’s annuity, Library of Congress Talking Books, utility accommodations and other specialized services.
